The Waterville Central School District stadium will have a new addition for fall 2023 – a new scoreboard. The $45,475 cost is covered by a grant by the Edwin J. Wadas Foundation. The foundation works to help youth athletic programs in Oneida and Herkimer counties.
The scoreboard will be purchased through Toth Sports located in Victor, NY. Crews are scheduled to install the new scoreboard over the summer on the existing support posts.
Waterville athletic director Tom Gifford submitted the application.
“This scoreboard will be a welcoming sight for all who play at and visit the field at Waterville. Thank you to the Edwin J. Wadas Foundation for supporting Waterville athletics and youth athletes across the area,” Gifford said.
The 1980s vintage scoreboard has graced the Waterville field for almost 40 years. New technology will allow for a countdown clock and will feature an illuminated 2-foot tall “Waterville” at the top. The dimensions of the scoreboard are 10-feet tall, 18-feet wide.
