District begins search process for new principals

At its July 9 board meeting, the Waterville Board of Education plans to accept the retirement of Karen Hinderling as Memorial Park Elementary School principal and the resignation of Jennifer Dainotto as Waterville Jr./Sr. High School principal.

The search for new principals is underway.

Hinderling, who has served as MPS principal since June 2021, has decided to retire from public education following a 33-year career.

“Ms. Hinderling brought many new initiatives to MPS.  We wish her the best in this new chapter of her life,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jennifer Spring said.

Dainotto, who has served as the Jr./Sr. High School principal since July 2022, has decided to pursue other opportunities.

“We appreciate Mrs. Dainotto’s commitment to the students and families of Waterville. We wish her success in her next steps,” Dr. Spring said.

The district hopes to have new principals in place for the start of the 2024-25 school year.

The district will advertise the positions, establish search committees and engage staff for their input.

If there are any questions, families may contact the district office at 315-841-3900.
