At its Oct. 17 board meeting, the Waterville Board of Education approved Cynthia Amarosa, to lead the district’s business office and oversee all financial operations.

Amarosa will assume all duties and responsibilities related to financial budgeting and state and federal reporting.

She will step into this new role effective immediately. The previous school business manager, Amanda Eaves, resigned to pursue other opportunities earlier this month.

Amarosa has served as district treasurer in Waterville for six years. Prior to her time in Waterville, she worked in the central business office at the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES.

“I am proud to continue to serve the Waterville Central School District and ensure the smooth operation of our school district and the success of our students,” Amarosa said.

“It is exciting to see an internal candidate from our business office surface as the right person to serve as the district’s financial leader.  Her years of dedicated service and her comprehensive skill set will ensure continuity of the district’s financial commitment to educating the whole child for personalized success,” Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Spring said.

The district will be looking to hire an assistant treasurer and more information will be posted soon.
