Dear Waterville Central School District family,
I am writing to share an important update about our school district’s leadership team. Mrs. Lindsay Owens, who has served as our K-12 assistant principal since 2022, has accepted a new position as the elementary principal in the Frankfort Schuyler School District. This is her last week with us. We are incredibly grateful for Mrs. Owens’ outstanding dedication and many contributions to our school district, and we wish her much success in this exciting career opportunity.
With Mrs. Owens’ departure, the district now has two key building leadership positions to fill. To address these vacancies:
- Jr./Sr. High Principal: We will be reopening the district’s search for a permanent principal.
- K-12 Assistant Principal: Once the principal position is filled, we will begin the search for a new assistant principal.
In the interim, Dr. Steve Grimm, who has been serving as the interim Jr./Sr. High principal this school year, has agreed to continue in an administrative role through June 30, 2025.
Additionally, I am excited to announce that Mrs. Alison Voelker, a Jr./Sr. High Special Educator, will take on the role temporarily as the Jr./Sr. High dean of students starting Dec. 2. Mrs. Voelker joined our school last fall after relocating from Connecticut, where she also worked as a special education teacher. She is currently pursuing her administrative certification, and this opportunity will provide valuable leadership experience while enhancing her skillset as an aspiring leader. We are happy to welcome her to this new role and are confident her skills and enthusiasm will positively impact our students. Dr. Grimm and Mrs. Voelker will work closely together to ensure a smooth and supportive transition for our students and staff.
We remain committed to evaluating and strengthening our leadership team to best support our schools. Should you have any questions, please reach out to me directly.
Thank you for your continued support. I wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Spring, Superintendent
