A Waterville Central School District student has made a historic victory. Junior Danny Casatelli has become the first Jr./Sr. High School student to win the Section III Varsity Boys Cross Country Class D individual title. The Section III Championship meet was held Nov. 9 at Mount Markham High School, where Casatelli earned the title with a time of 15:47.7.
“Casatelli’s win is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and the support of coach Andrew Ford,” said Tom Gifford, athletic director. “This historic accomplishment showcases the strength and potential of Waterville Central School athletics and serves as an inspiration to all of our student athletes.”
He will go on to compete at the New York State Championships held at Queensbury High School on Nov. 16. The Class D boys race is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tickets are available through GoFan.
